WINTER WILDLIFE MONITORING EXPEDITION

PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN OUR RESEARCH

Explore the snow covered mountains range of Scandinavia while taking an active part in our monitoring activities. This winter expedition consist largely of studying and collecting data on the population growth of the wild muskoxen and the (in Scandinavia) near threatened golden eagle.

Learn how to observe, read tracks and signs, and how to preserve the nature that surrounds these species. During your time on this project you will be working in the field and learn different types of monitoring techniques, mainly on beaver and otter but also other various species of wildlife.

You will be working with various field equipment such as camera-traps, GPS-devices, ARCgis, research equipment and more. Participants should be prepared to spend a lot of time in the field in any and all weather conditions. Cooking will be done in the kitchen at homebase or over gas cookers when we stay in the wild. The accommodation will consist of tents but also shared rooms at the base.

COVID-19: If the SCV has to cancel an expedition due to effects of the

Covid-19, full refunds will be issued. Read more about our refund policies here
